"Saddam's First Hole"

Courtesy U.S. Air Force. This is the hole that was created by four precision guided bombs

dropped from a B-1 bomber, in the Al Mansur neighborhood of Baghdad, at the beginning of the war.

Saddam was suspected to be meeting with top officials of his regime in a bunker below the house.

It is about a block from Saddam's favorite restaurant, the Al Saa. Their was an undamaged Koran stuck in a window

in the center of the image, the Iraqi's present said it was a sign from God. After visiting the hole we had lunch at the Al Saa

restaurant, I ordered a Falafel , my driver looked at me like I was crazy and said "why are you not having Kentucky?" the Iraqi term for fried chicken. The food was actually very good,

the best food I had while in Baghdad.
