Some kind of Iraqi military complex near Fateh Square and the National Theater. Complete with indoor swimming pool and statue of Saddam.
The base of the statue can be seen in the center of the image, when I first visited a few days before, most of the statue was intact minus head and various body parts.
Very strange place, ditches filled with diesel fuel surrounded the complex. Workers in the Sagman Hotel, (the tallest building to the right of the image) said the complex was
hit with two cruise missiles in the middle of the night. Must have been one hell of a boom! Virtually flattened with little damage to surrounding buildings. The workers at the Sagman Hotel
said it was also destroyed in "Gulf War 1".
